Chronic myelogenous leukemia. (A) Blood film. Marked increase in white cell count. Leukemic blast cell, promyelocytes, myelocytes, metamyelocytes, band and segmented neutrophils. Note marked increase in proportion of band neutrophils. Hypersegmented neutrophils a common feature. Basophil present. Abundant platelets. Relatively slight changes in red cell morphology. (B) Blood film. Marked increase in white cell count. Myelocytes, metamyelocytes, band and segmented neutrophils. Two basophils present. Abundant platelets. Relatively slight changes in red cell morphology.
