About this lecture:
The lecture on Preoperative Pulmonary Risk Evaluation provided information enabling the consultant to decide which patients were at increased risk for postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs). However, the more important component is what interventions can be implemented in an attempt to reduce that risk. This lecture reviews the ACP guidelines on risk reduction and data from several newer studies evaluating which strategies are the most effective.
