About this lecture:
Thyroid nodules are a common clinical problem. In this lecture, Dr. Susan Mandel, an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid disease, addresses a number of questions regarding thyroid nodules. These include: (1) the epidemiology of thyroid nodules; (2) the diagnostic evaluation; (3) the role of radiographic imaging studies, including ultrasound; (4) decision-making based upon cytology results from fine-needle aspiration; (5) appropriate follow-up of patients with benign cytology results.
